Tallahassee Coptic Alumni

St. Mary & St. George Church has been, and will continue to be, a home for many university students while they earn their education.

Message from the Alumni Association

The goal of Tallahassee Coptic Alumni is to give back to the Church that has helped so many of us. We have estimated that around 300 Copts have come through and graduated over the past 20 years. If we can get each to give a small amount of around $100 a month, we, as past students who have gained so much from the church, would be able to collectively contribute to the ministry of current and future generations at the church. We have spoken to many of you and mostly everyone is comfortable with that number. Of course, you will be able to adjust the amount as you see fit, but that is what we are basing our goal on. To relieve any concerns regarding privacy, all money will be donated to the church Paypal account which goes directly to the church. Only the church treasurer has access to this account and will send anyone who donates the proper tax documentation at end of the year. Paypal donation link will follow in another post.

Our second goal is to have a page on the Tallahassee church website. The page will be the main place for any and all things related to the the Alumni group.

Our third goal is to publish a quarterly Alumni e-newsletter that will help connect the current students with past Alumni. The newsletter will be headed by a team of 5 students and an Alumni member who will oversee the project. The newsletter will consist of a spiritual word from Fr. Gerges, an alumni spotlight, activities being done by the students, student community involvement and other functions that are being done with the support of the Alumni group.

Our fourth goal will be to host an Annual Alumni Dinner/Weekend for all Alumni members to come together.

Our fifth goal will be that graduating students see the dedication and support of past alumni members and join the Tallahassee Coptic Alumni Group and give back!

Thank you all for your continued support!
